Nah Trust Dem is a 6 tracks EP that was born from the collaboration between the french DJ and producer anyoneID and XL Mad, singer and producer outta Numa Crew.
The first track of the EP is Burning, produced by anyoneID. The tune brings a futuristic and soulful afrobeat vibe fused with classic dancehall elements. The melodies and flow of XL Mad create a catchy summer hit for all the dancehall lovers.
Nah Trust Dem is the track that gives the name to the EP. XL Mad is both on voice and the production. The instrumental is a fresh melodic dancehall riddim: the guitar riff plus the rhythmic structure creates a tropical vibe which is topped by the positive and powerful message of the lyrics and dreaming voice melodies.
Gyal is a proper dancefloor shaker with a classic reggaeton structure spiced by a middle eastern synth melody and lyrics both in jamaican patois and spanish.
CRG is produced by XL Mad and anyoneID together. The lead flute creates a spacey hallucinated vibe with the drums bringing the broken beat structure of the latest dancehall hits (Stylo G, Ding Dong Ravers, Aidonia). XL Mad sings and raps on this one with multiples changes in style and flow, which transform this song in one of the most visionary of the EP.
Beat Dem Bad is dark, bad and futuristic. anyoneID delivers on this one a heavy drill vibe 140bpm. The tune reminds the atmospheres of “Badman Ting“ in which XL Mad’s featuring alongside Killa P, Irah and Long Range. Again, on this tune the lyrics are a mix of jamaican patois and spanish.
Money Haffi Mek, produced and singed by XL Mad, is a proper ragga-trap tune made of dark hypnotic lead, heavy trap drums, melodic autotuned voice singing both in patois and spanish. The lyrics are suffered and tense: the change between the two languages create an impacting feeling as a perfect mix between sonorities from Jamaica and Puerto Rico.
